Daril Cinquanta was born in St. Mary's Pennsylvania in 1948. He grew up in the family restaurant business in Riverside, California and Boulder, Colorado. He was expelled from four schools and lost his driver’s license three times before the age of 18. Cinquanta attended Harbor High School and the Police Academy in 1970 in pursuit of his childhood dream: becoming a crime fighter.

During his career he received the Police Medal of Honor; the Police Distinguished Service Cross, The Service Cross, The Purple Heart, six Police Merit Awards, Optimist Club Policeman of the Year, Citizens Appreciate Police Award of Honor and over 160 official departmental and outside jurisdiction commendations.

After his retirement, he started his own private investigative firm, Professional Investigators, Inc in Denver, Colorado.

“I was a member of the Denver Police Department, serving in every rank from patrolman to my final rank as Division Chief of Criminal Investigations. Over my 35 years on the force I had the opportunity to evaluate over 1,000 police officers and I worked with many of the finest. Only one worked at his craft seven days a week, putting in hundreds of unpaid hours of overtime with phenomenal results—and that was Detective Daril Cinquanta. Daril generated many emotions among his peers and command staff but in the final analysis—if you actually gave him a chance—he proved his worth and earned their admiration. Detective Daril Cinquanta was without a doubt the most productive police officer I ever saw in my career, arresting thousands of criminals!”
